Henry and Theo’s rivals-to-lovers Olympic romance is now in audio from the amazing Greg Tremblay/Boudreaux! I love Greg’s work, and he knocked this out of the park.

Grumpy Meets Sunshine

January 9, 2022 by Keira Andrews Leave a Comment

My new figure skating romance is out now! I was inspired to write Henry and Theo’s story after the last world championships in Stockholm in March 2021. It was so wonderful to see a full competition again (even if there was no audience). Their romance ate my brain and demanded to be written. I hope you enjoy it!

Tennis and sexy romance, anyone?

May 20, 2021 by Keira Andrews Leave a Comment

The 15th-anniversary edition of my very first book, Love Match, is here!

No, you don’t need to check your eyes. I said 15 years! My very first book was published by Loose Id in 2006. Borat was a box office hit, George Clooney and Angelina Jolie were deemed the sexiest people alive, and a new social media site called Facebook opened registration to the general public.

Aside from my old publisher, those things are still around, so it doesn’t actually seem so long ago. But Instagram and Twitter didn’t even exist, and Netflix was mailing actual DVDs to your house. The times, they have changed! It honestly blows my mind that I’ve been publishing for that long, and it’s wonderful to finally get my first book back on the shelves.

I’d initially planned on revising this story after the rights reverted to me. But I discovered when I sat down to re-read it that I like it just the way it is–dated technology and all! In regards to homophobia in sports and society, there really has been significant progress as well. It was so interesting to see that more has changed than I expected!
Luke and Jesse’s angsty coming-out journey to their HEA was vital in achieving my dream career as a romance author. I still hear from readers who love this book, and I hope you do too!

New (old) title for my figure skating romance

January 12, 2020 by Keira Andrews 2 Comments

My figure skating romance has a new (old) title! Misha and Dev’s story was originally two novellas published through Loose Id called Cold War and Holding the Edge. I later combined them into one volume to give you more bang for your buck. To avoid confusion, I called the book The Winning Edge.

However, Cold War is frankly just a much better title that conveys the hate-to-love vibe, and I’ve gone back to it. (So much for avoiding confusion!) This will be the final title for Dev and Misha’s full story, I promise. 😀

✅ Enemies to lovers
✅ Figure skating drama
✅ Secret relationship
✅ Light D/s

New figure skating romance

February 8, 2018 by Keira Andrews Leave a Comment

Whenever I publish a new book, I always feel a little something like this:

Just, you know. Far less graceful. 😀  But it’s always a great feeling to hit publish, and I’m delighted to be republishing two figure skating novellas into one new novel! This romance takes place at an invented Olympics in Annecy, France, since I didn’t want to tie it to any particular Games. (In this fictional universe, there are no Russian doping violations or team figure skating event.)

In the past few years, a few male figure skaters have come out, with Canada’s Eric Radford being the first to officially come out while still competing. Adam Rippon is another notable out figure skater. There has historically been a surprising amount of homophobia in figure skating, and for my characters Dev and Misha, they are still afraid of going public with their sexuality. Of course as rivals, they certainly never expect to fall in love with each other…

Can figure skating enemies find love off the ice?

After an explosive locker room confrontation with his Russian rival ends in the most intense sex of his life, American pairs skater Dev Avira is distracted to say the least. He’s worked for years to have a chance at Olympic gold, and he can’t let himself—or his partner—down. Playing cat and mouse with the steely and smoldering Mikhail Reznikov is the last thing he needs as he prepares for the biggest competition of his life, but they can’t keep their hands off each other as the Games approach.

Dev soon learns that beneath Mikhail’s arrogant and aloof exterior is Misha, a passionate man who warms Dev’s heart and scorches his bed. They’re both determined to win, but for Misha his freedom could be at stake if he and his partner take anything less than gold. Who will stand atop the podium? And can secret lovers from different worlds make a life together once the competition ends?

This gay sports romance from Keira Andrews features enemies to lovers, two alpha men, sequins, and of course a happy ending. Content previously published as novellas Cold War and Holding the Edge.

2018 plans

December 31, 2017 by Keira Andrews 12 Comments

As 2017 draws to a close, I’m reflecting back and peering at the road forward and my writing plans for 2018. Lots of exciting projects are in the works!

This past year started slowly for me with publishing, largely because I was lucky enough to take a six-week trip through Australia with my mom. It was absolutely a dream come true. My dad had always wanted to visit Australia and never did in the end, and I’m so grateful to have shared the experience with my mom. I backpacked through Oz twenty years ago, and it was lovely to revisit some places and explore new ones.

Elephant Cove at Greens Pool, Western Australia

I published a single father/kidnapping adventure, Road to the Sun, in May, republished my spy caper, The Chimera Affair, in June, and spent the summer writing, writing, writing. The last part of 2017 really ramped up after I published Kidnapped by the Pirate at the end of October.

I never know how a book will be received, and historicals tend not to sell as well as contemporary. Yet this book exceeded all my expectations, which has been a real treat. I grew up on bodice-rippers, and it was such a pleasure to write a breeches-ripper! I’m thrilled by how much readers seem to have enjoyed the story.

In November and December, I published two holiday romances, In Case of Emergency, and Eight Nights in December, which was a reworking of two old stories. I was lucky enough to have Emergency go to #1 on Amazon’s gay romance charts, which was a milestone for me and a wonderful way to close out the year. I also added a few new translations to my growing collection.

Coming down the road in 2018

  1. I’ll be re-releasing my Australian historical adventure The Station in mid-January. Dar Albert has made a gorgeous new cover I’ll be sharing with you in the next week or so!
  2. I’ll also be re-releasing two figure skating novellas, Cold War and Holding the Edge, in one new volume in early February just in time for the Olympics.
  3. I’m delighted to announce that I’ve signed a contract with Tantor to release Kidnapped by the Pirate in audio in 2018. It’s still early stages, but I’ll share more info when I have it. I’m absolutely delighted to finally be delving into the world of audio books.
  4. My first German translation, of Beyond the Sea, is coming quite soon! Stay tuned for more details.
  5. There will also be more French and Italian translations coming this year.
  6. My next new novel will be the as-yet-untitled sequel to Valor on the Move. I have about 14,000 words, and I’ll be working on it for the next couple months. Planning to release in March or April.
  7. Then I’ll be writing the third book in the Kick at the Darkness series. Yes, more Adam and Parker! I also really want to write a fourth book that would take place several years later and center on Jacob. My plan is to write these books this summer and release them in Sept and October. Fingers crossed! We’ll see how it goes.
  8. I’ll definitely be writing a Christmas romance, and I’d love to do a full novel instead of a novella.
  9. Since my former publisher, Loose Id, is closing its doors in May, I’ll have the rights back to my final book with them—Love Match. This was my very first novel, published in 2006. I will definitely be republishing it, but I want to take some time to revise and re-edit it. I think I’ve learned a lot about writing in the last 10+ years, and I’m sure Luke and Jesse’s story can be strengthened. So I’ll be poking at that when time permits, and I definitely want to have it back up for sale before the end of the year.
  10. I’ll be attending the RT convention in Reno in May and my first GRL in October in Virginia. Hope to see you there!

You know what they say about the best-laid plans, but I’m knocking on wood that everything on my list will go smoothly! Thank you so much for your support, and here’s to an outstanding 2018. Wishing you health and happiness on the road ahead. <3

p.s. I’d hoped to write a fourth novel for my Amish boys, Isaac and David, this year. It looks like it’ll be 2019, but it’s still very much on my to-do list!

Love on the ice

December 11, 2016 by Keira Andrews Leave a Comment

My new book is now available to buy on Amazon or borrow via Kindle Unlimited!

Screenshot 2016-01-25 11.47.12

As a lifelong figure skating fan, I love writing about the sport, and I hope you enjoy reading this story about young men trying to balance the pressure of training with a burgeoning relationship off the ice.

If he risks his heart, can he keep his head in the game?

To win gold, figure skater Alex Grady must train harder than the competition morning, noon, and night. He’s obsessed with mastering another quadruple jump, and due to the lack of filter between his mouth and brain, doesn’t have a lot of friends. As for a boyfriend, forget it. So what if he’s still a virgin at twenty? The Olympics are only every four years—everything else can wait. Relationships are messy and complicated anyway, and he has zero room in his life for romance.

So it’s ridiculous when Alex finds himself checking out his boring new training mate Matt Savelli. Calm, collected “Captain Cardboard” is a nice guy, but even if Alex had time to date, Matt’s so not his type. Yet beneath Matt’s wholesome surface, there’s a dirty, sexy man who awakens a desire Alex has never experienced and can’t deny…

Note: This gay romance from Keira Andrews features opposites attracting, new adult angst, sexual discovery, and of course a happy ending.

Borrow now in Kindle Unlimited

October 5, 2016 by Keira Andrews 1 Comment

You can now borrow my new baseball romance at Amazon through Kindle Unlimited! (It’ll be available at all sellers again in three months.) Just in time for October playoffs, Reading the Signs features an age difference, an older brother’s friend, light BDSM, a motherlode of emotional constipation, hurt/comfort, and lots of action–both baseball and sexytimes-related.

Boy Meets Boy Reviews says:

This was my first but will most certainly not be my last Keira Andrews. I loved this so much I was sad when it was over, almost immediately wanted to start reading it again and even days later am still thinking about these characters and this story. Highly recommended. Period.

I hope you enjoy it! I’ll be over here rooting for my Blue Jays in the meantime. 😀

This hot-headed rookie needs discipline—on and off the field.

Pitcher Nico Agresta is desperate to live up to his family’s baseball legacy. Since he was a teenager crushing on his big brother’s teammate, he’s known he can’t act on his desires. His father’s made it clear there should be no queers on the field, but if Nico can win Rookie of the Year like his dad and brother did, maybe he can prove he’s worthy after all.

At 34, veteran catcher Jake Fitzgerald just wants to finish out his contract and retire. His team doesn’t have a prayer of making the playoffs, but who needs the stress? Jake lost his passion for the game—and life—after driving away the man he loved, and he swore he’d never risk his heart again.

Then he’s traded to a team that wants a vet behind the plate to tame their new star pitcher. Jake is shocked to find the gangly kid he once knew has grown into a gorgeous young man. But tightly wound Nico’s having trouble controlling his temper in his quest for perfection, and Jake needs to teach him patience and restraint on the mound.

When their push and pull explodes into the bedroom, Nico and Jake will both learn how much they’ll risk for love.

This gay sports romance features men who have been repressing their feelings far too long, light BDSM, an age difference, sweaty locker rooms, and a happy ending.

Novel length: 86,000 words

New sports romance

September 23, 2016 by Keira Andrews Leave a Comment

Hello there! I hope you all had an amazing summer (or winter, depending on which hemisphere you’re in). Mine was very busy, and I’m delighted to say that I have a new book available!

giphy

You might be wondering if you missed some earlier news about this story, but nope, I kept this one on the downlow this summer, mostly because I was working so hard on it that I let blogging and promo and whatnot go on the backburner. I thought it would be fun to do a surprise release, and right now I feel pretty much like:

wake up

But Nico and Jake are ready for you, and I can’t wait for you to meet them. While you’re reading, I’ll be over here doing a little of this:
